In a recent study researchers found that low glycemic foods like lentils, soybeans, yogurt and many high fiber grains are better than high-fiber foods in controlling type 2 diabetes. They siginificantly reduced A1C (glycated hemoglobin or A1c) more than high-fiber diet, and at the same time they proved to increase HDL (good cholesterol) while high-fiber foods decresed it.
A1C is am easure for the control of diabetes over the past 2-3 months, and high levels of HDL are required for heart health.
